20 April 2016 – After a fourteen hour flight onboard Emirates from Sydney to Dubai and a further eight hours from Dubai to London (following a two hour stopover), my wife and I finally arrived at Heathrow for the start of our UK adventure.
While our initial plan was to rest, I figured it was too sunny an afternoon to waste indoors and decided to head out by myself for an evening shoot at Tower Bridge. The decision turned out to be a great one as it rained most other nights during our time in the city!
My first stop was at St Katherine’s Dock (on the north bank of the Thames), the location of the sculptures Girl with a Dolphin, created by artist David Wynne, and the Timepiece Sundial, by artist Wendy Taylor.

There was a splash of colour on the horizon as it approached sunset, so I headed up the staircase on the bridge for a better vantage point. The reward was a spectacular view of the Thames with the Shard in the backdrop, a wonderful welcome to mark the start to our stay in London.
